12 Minutes of Vocal perfection from Leah Salonga (Video)


Broadway and West End star Lea Salonga brought the house down Wednesday (November 26) when she concluded the opening show of The Theatre at Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque City.

(Adrian Bautista/NPPA IMAGES)</div>Over 1,700 guests found themselves overwhelmed by the genius of Filipino talent when dozens of guest artists took turns showcasing what they do best in the newly inaugurated, fan-shaped theater. 

As expected, however, Lea Salonga shone the brightest in this star-studded galaxy. She reminded everyone why she remains admired the world over for 25 years now by showcasing a repertoire that brought her crystal-clear vocals to the fore.

Here, the Tony award winner sings “I Dreamed a Dream” and “On My Own” from the hit musical “Les Misérables.” Lea performed both pieces when she played Fantine and Eponine in the 1995 and 2006 staging of Les Miz, respectively.


In 2010, Lea played Grizabella, the lead character in the musical “Cats” when it was staged at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Check out her powerful version of “Memory.”
